The Prestigious Creative Generation MOST Awards

Posted: June 08, 2017

Our dedicated and energetic chorusmistress, Alison Rogers, has again been invited to be the Choral Director for this year’s upcoming Creative Generation MOST Awards. The prestigious Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Instrumental Music (MOST) event has been running biennially since 1983 and is to be held this year from 19-29 June.

The MOST program extends musically gifted and talented students in a 10-day program of musical development in large and small ensembles, tutorial groups, aural musicianship and a range of music and cultural activities. Conductors and tutors are eminent musicians who are recognised as leaders in their respective fields.

Students perform across a number of ensembles including symphony orchestra, big band, string orchestra, symphonic winds and chamber winds.

Alison and the Vocal Manoeuvres Academy has provided consultancy services to the Creative Generation State Schools Onstage program since 2005 and is thrilled to continue her role as Choral Director for the MOST awards.  Alison commented:

"It is so exciting to be invited back as the Choir Director for the Creative Generation MOST program. To work with these outstanding instrumentalists in a choral program always presents new opportunities to explore repertoire, genres and styles from the instrumentalists perspective rather than that of the chorister's. These young people are highly musically literate and very keen to experience the vocal arts through this choral program".
