The King's Singers Summer School, UK

Members of the Vocal Manoeuvres Academy recently had a fabulous week at the King's Singers UK Summer School joining nearly 140 singers, from Australia, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and across Europe.

It was an incredible week of learning, the culmination of which was working with the renowned English conductor Christopher Robinson to prepare and perform Evensong at the stunning St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Wonderful Creative Generation of 2017

Last Saturday saw the conclusion of the 13th presentation of Creative Generation State School's Onstage for 2017. 

Our Vocal Manoeuvres Academy Director, Alison Rogers, has been involved in this event from the very beginning when the company was contracted to stage the first event at QPAC on an eight week timeline. The event has grown into an enormously successful annual event and is now staged at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Each year the Vocal Manoeuvres Academy is contracted to conduct a Sitzprobe with the Creative Generation State School’s Onstage students and every time we receive many enquiries from students and staff on “What a ‘Sitzprobe’ is and the purpose of one”.  
Given the term is an operatic one, we thought we’d consult one of Australia’s leading proponent of Opera and ask Conductor from Opera Australia, Brian Castles-Onion, for his insight!
